01.22.2015, 18:30 "Pecherska for everyone " — outcomes and plans
The traditional Thursday this week within CANactions international architecture festival (www.canactions.com) is featured with participation of initiative group of project «Печерська для всіх!» During the previous year in a frame of the project the multidisciplinary workshop, socielogical research, tours and discursion were succussfully helded with the participation of locals, community organizations and with the specialists from various fields. The project is on-going, but already may be a great example of other urban initiatives. So we hope this meeting will be primarily interesting not only for Pecherska district inhabitants, but also for urban activists.
Pecherska square has a number of typical for Kyiv problems: chaotic trade and parking, scarcity of pedestrian spaces, lack of recreation places, green areas and amenities; the exterior advertising is irritating, the space if higly commercialized. Pecherska is slowly disappearing among all this useful and not so constructions (materials of online magazine HMAROCHOS).
The speakers from the fields of urbanistics, sociology and municipality are going to tell about the possible changes of the square and plans for the further development of Pecherska square.
