This time our weekly Thursday within CANactions (www.canactions.com) festival is going to be featured with the presentation of Nadia Parfan on “Soviet Urban Utopias and Utopian Future for Kyiv”.
Throughout different times and places ideal cities have been envisioning by many. For the last century Kyiv was seen as the garden city, socialist city, microrayon, technopolis, etc. Why do we need urban utopias and how to dream properly?

Nadia finished her cultural studies in Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and sociology and social anthropology in Central European University of Budapest, HU. In 2010-2011 she was a Fulbright scholar in Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, USA.
