ZAHA HADID ARCHITECTS
Christos is a Senior Designer at Zaha Hadid Architects since February 1998. He is the Project Director and Lead Designer for numerous projects and winning competitions, including most notably the Sterling Prize nominee, the Phaeno Science Centre Wolfsburg, completed in November 2005.
Christos led the competition design on various entries for the ZHA, including the Holloway Road Pedestrian Bridge (1999) , 1stprize- and the Phaeno Science Centre Wolfsburg (2000-2006). He has also lead the competition for seminal designs such as The Wakefield Art Gallery (2004), Connecticut Science and Exploration Centre in Hartford, CT (2004), the S.C. Johnson Wax Project Honour (2005) a prestigious extension to F.L. Wright’s Johnson Wax campus in Racine, Wisconsin, lead the competition for Eleftheria Square redesign in Nicosia, Cyprus-1stprize (2005) and the Miami Science museum- 2ndprize (2006).
He has contributed to the design of various projects including the Sheik Zayed Bridge in Abu Dhabi (1998- ongoing), Rosenthal Contemporary Arts Centre in Cincinnati (completed 2003) and the design of the MAXXI National Centre for Contemporary Arts in Rome (2000-on going), and contributed in larger scale projects such as the Istanbul master plan for Kartal-Pendik in Istanbul (2006).
Recently, he has been leading design teams on projects such as the Architecture Foundation in London (2005- 2006), the OPUS tower in Dubai (2006-ongoing), a master plan proposal for the redevelopment of Tangier Port, in Morocco and the KARO Masterplan in Sofia, Bulgaria (2008) and the design for contemporary Arabic Arts Galleries in Tunis and Amman and is one of the co-authors for Eleftheria Square redevelopment in Nicosia.
